Philadelphia - Grammy recording artist Jill Scott kicks off a preview of her summer youth program 'Camp Jill Scott' for one week this summer in Philadelphia, from August 24th - 28th .
The camp is organized by The Blue's Babe Foundation, the brainchild of Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter and poet Jill Scott, the Blues Babe Foundation was formed for the purpose of nurturing students of color artistically and academically.
This free outdoor day camp offers youth ages 10 - 13 a fun escape from their urban environment. Campers will enjoy swimming, archery, arts & crafts, baseball, volleyball, basketball, rock wall climbing, boating, creative expression, and much more.
Camp Jill Scott will offer a daily "Express Yourself" component. This will allow students to learn about various outlets for creative self-expression during their camp experience. Visual artist and founder of NPIC-Art, Rah Crawford will be a special guest for the camps premier launch day. Mr. Crawford will share creative tips, techniques and processes with the children, while assisting with the start of a wall mural project.
